Password not being recognized for purposes of logging into The Sims 3 game

I am having trouble getting The Sims 3 game to recognize my password.  After the second to the last game update, my password stopped being recognized for the purpose of logging into the game.  My ingame password, which is exactly the same as the password I use on the EA, The Sims 3, and Origin websites, along with the same email address for all three sites, is recognized on the websites, but not in the game.  I have reset my password about a half a dozen times via the ingame and website "Forgot your password" procedure/process and the same thing continues to happen - I can login to the websites but not the game.  Fortunately, I can play the game without logging in, but still, I would like to be able to log into the game when I want to.  Thank you very much on any support resolving this issue.
